The Clay Township Board of Zoning Appeals “BZA” is accepting applications from Clay Township residents. The Board of Zoning Appeals consist of 5 members and 2 alternates, to be appointed by the board of township trustees. The Trustees create and establish a Board of Zoning Appeals under section 519.13 of the Ohio Revised Code.
The BZA members will need to attend public meetings held in the evenings. The meetings vary, typically 3-5 a year, and last around 1-2 hours each meeting. The BZA makes decisions involving land divisions, variance request, appeals, interpretations and conditional uses. The BZA members are paid $25 per meeting attended at the end of the year. All applicants will go through a background check and will be appointed by the township trustees.
